Madden 20 End of the Season report

† † † † †On this edition of†ESPNEWS We Wrap up John Madden Football 2020 on the PS4. With the Football seaon over the League is now in the Off-Season, and on Summer Break. This is a good a time as any to get a broad overview of the league, and how it's owners did on this rendition of Madden. The AFC Dominated this Season of the NFASL winning 5 Super Bowls to 2 for the NFC.† League G.O.A.T. Tommanowns hung 2 more banners in the Hall of Champions Winning Super Bowls XXX, and XXXV with his Baltimore Ravens. Tommanowns now has more rings than he has fingers on one hand. 3 Year veteran ThePacificCowboy hung his first Banner in the Hall of Champions winning Super Bowl XXXI with the Jacksonville Jaguars. And Newly Minted Maddenrox9 won his second Super Bowl in 3 seasons with the Houston Texans hanging two banners as a new member. In the NFC 3 year headcoach EddieHendrixx won his third Super Bowl in the NFASL with the New Orleans Saints winner of Super Bowl XXXII. The Young Gun, and headcoach spyversusspy hung his 1st banner in the Hall of Champions winning Super Bowl XXXIII with which i'm sure are many more to come.

†† † † † † It's been a wild ride in the NFASL with some long time members leaving the league for a myriad of reasons. Jboc27 was the most senior member in the league save for me hung his cleats up. I think he forgot that moon if anything is fair, and sometimes does the least popular opinion based on facts, not feelings. 3 time Super Bowl winning coach EddieHendriix forgot the most important thing of all that no one man is above the league, not even me. I have been the commissioner in thid league for going on 9 years, and I dare anyone to name one time where I pull the because I said so card. I have not forgotten that this is a Symbiotic Society, and I need you guys, just as much as you need me. I'm not so arrogant to think that my poo doesn't stink. Not as bad as shooter's but still it smells...... A few owners along the way surprised me, and some didn't with sticking it out through another tough developement year of Madden. Coach DHontos, and raw_Diaw comes to mind in terms of pleasant surprise. However Guys like MRT, and Caesar hate the game, and the league apparently and always surprise me why the hell they want to comeback at the start of Madden. This game has been the same for 20 years, at some point you gotta say it is, what it is...... † .†

††††††††† Before I get to the Conferences I want to give a Special Shoutout to my Two lieutenants Coach JD of the Chicago Bearsd, and Active Shooter for all their help this year in running the league. JD paid for Daddy Leagues, which helped immensely in helping make short blurbs for the chat, and put the league stats and whatnot at my fingertips on the go. They also helped fine tune a few rules that needed tweaking, and just generally kept the league moving at a consistent pace. We were able to get in 7 seasons which is a direct testiment to their hard work.

††††

††††††† The NFC was dominated in terms of Win percentage wise by Coach Spyversusspy as he finished up with a 46-7 record, with 3 trips to the Super Bowl in which he was 1-2. He didn't make many fans along the way as his playstyle is very counter productive for a Sim league. The "S" in NFASL means Simulation. That means wer are actively trying to recreate what we see on Sunday. The reason he survived a million messages to get booted was simply my call, as he has potential, and is not a lost cause in my opinion. As he gets older, and he learns that these Banners don't mean anything without the respect of your peers I think he will shape up, or ship out like my dad used to say. Coach Shooter put up massive wins once again, but has now gone 8 years, and 36 seasons without hanging a banner in the Hall of Champions. Never mind the fact that he has had either the most Glitch Receiver in History, in Odell Beckham Jr. And now the Most Glitch Running back in History Saquon Barkley..... Of Course you can slip on a banana peel for a win or 2 in the playoffs but there ain't no banana peel 4 games long. The Bears were humbled this Madden not winning a Super Bowl, Hell he didn't even make one. Extra hard to take when the guy that humbles you looks like if you if he dated your sister you'd know her virginity was safe...... Melblaze did what Melblaze does what Melblaze does and that's go 13-99.... Coach Kaliko without the best team money could buy looked less than ordinary which calls into question his two banners hanging in the Hall of Champions.....But I digress. The NFC let me down this year, and hope that come madden 21 we get a better showing out it.

In the AFC The Baltimore Ravens, and the Houston Texans showed the rest of the Conference that they were not to be taken lightly as these two teams won 4 of the 5 Super Bowls that the AFC Won. Tommanowns with Lamar Jackson was unstoppable as his Defensive Prowess, and the Ravens Real life Organizational Skills makes that combo a goddamn Dead match! Equally tough for me as I'm 40 miles from that cesspool Baltimore however I root for the worst run Organization in Sports the Washington Redskins! KYS!!!!† The Texans won his first Super Bowl but learned exactly what I said earlier about the Packers. literally doesn't mean shit with the respect. You're not getting any money, the only thing left is being able to live with yourself. However just like the Packers Coach he still needs some fine tuning for this league, but he took major steps toward improving his "SIM" Game. That's all you can ask honestly. The AFC Showed out as they were the more dominant team this madden Season with several teams putting up some impressive numbers the Raiders with one of the worst teams in the league to start finished with a record of 68-44 those draft picks helped out though =) The Patriots made a trip to the Super Bowl and finished with 82 wins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers showing that the love of a good woman could not slow him down posted 72 wins on the season. The Jaguars won a Super Bowl, and garnered 64 wins, Not bad. the biggest disappointments in the AFC were the New York Jets, who still hasn't taken that next step in the league, although he's getting close. The Buffalo Bills Offensivedom took several steps back not making it to the Super bowl in a full rendition of Madden since I can remember. Hell he didn't even make the Playoffs!!!

The Lone Star!!

†††††††††† Super Bowl XXXVI. Miami, FL. Hard Rock Stadium† In the†NFASL Super Bowl XXXVI The Houston Texans Garnered his Second Super Bowl in 3 years with a clutch performance that came down to the wire as they defeated the Green Bay Packers by a score of 24-23! The Game had every thing from comebacks, to safeties, to pick Sixes, and missed 4th down conversions. The Final season is always one of ill repute, but they count in the record books all the same. The AFC Dominated in this year of Madden hanging 5 banners in the Hall of Champions with Coach Maddenrox9 hanging two himself! In the game it was Kellen Mond outplaying 3 time straight League MVP Baker Mayfield in the Leagues biggest game. Kellen Mond acquired from the Carolina Panthers in a trade after letting DeShaun Watson go to the Atlanta Falcons was simply incredible during the game with many believing he should have been given Super Bowl MVP. Mond threw for 316 yards on 20/25 passes 80% completion Percentage, Two touchdowns, and only one interception. With Mond outdueling Baker the Texans won the time of possession 19:33 to 16:27 in favor of the winning team. Not to mention Mond being the teams leading rusher with 44yards on 10 carries that converted several key 3rd downs. The Texans also got contributions from 10 year pro Austin Hooper who hauled in 5 catches for 113 yards, and a touchdown. Will Fuller V grabbed 5 passes, for 63 yards and a touchdown. Keke Coutee pulled in 5, with Bru McCoy, and Aaron Jones grabbing 3, and 2 respectfully.†††

The Packers jumped out to a Early 7-0 lead in the First quarter, however the Texans came battling back like they have done all season long scoring the next 14 points. They went into halftime with a 14-14 tie, which meant the Biggest game of the year would come down to 2 quarters. The Packers were banking on the leagues MVP Baker Mayfield to pull a rabbit out of his hat, and he almost did. Baker was 21/33 passing throwing for 288 yards, and 3 touchdowns,, however he had 2 interceptions with one being late in the Redzone that would have tied the game. The Packers headcoach played fast and loose throughout the game and was 2-2 on 4th down conversions. The two that mattered the most however were both in the Redzone, and in a game that was shaping up to be Bank Vault tight turned out to be maybe some of the worst coaching decisions in leagues history. The Packers have a history of taking chances in the Super Bowl and could arguably be a 3 time champ if he had played it a little more close to the vest. However there is a saying that goes you gotta risk it, for the biscuit, and the Packers have taken that to heart!

††† The Houston Texans were coached by Maddenrox9, and will write his name into the Hall of Champions to be forever remembered as the Team to win Super Bowl XXXVI, the final Season on Madden 20!

..

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Lets have a conversation with Super Bowl XXXVI winner Coach Maddenrox9:

  • You won Super Bowl XXXVI! What was your gameplan Going in??

My Gameplan going in was to hit him with plays he hasn't seen yet, and do my best to contain his offense. I knew that if my defense could hold we could win a ring, and that's exactly what we did!

  • On two occasions with you up 3, and Packers in Field goal range they opted to go for 7 in place of points. How did you stop them?

I took a risk by betting on the fact that he would run considering he had only a yard to go. I committed to stopping the run, and obviously it worked.

  • Middle Linebacker Tuf Borland 5th year pro out of Ohio State wearing J.J. Watts #99 garnered MVP of Super Bowl XXXVI, how did he do it?†

He Took advantage of the opportunity laid out for him, and it worked out pretty well as he put a much needed touchdown on the board. If he didn't get that pick Six we may of not won so it was an important play.†

  • You have won now Super Bowls XXXIV, and XXXVI in the worlds greatest league! How does this one feel in comparison?

This one feels immensely better because I lost to the Packers before in a Super Bowl in a close game. Ever since then I have not gotten the Chance to pay him back until now!

  • You're the Super Bowl XXXVI Champ, the floor is yours. Is there anything you want to say to the rest of the League?

I just wanna acknowledge how great this league is, and how much fun it has been for everyone in it. It is a very active, and organized league, and I have not seen a better run one. I had a great time competing in all these seasons. There were many obstacles during my journey in this league which makes this moment all the better. It was a great run in Madden 20, and I can't wait until we get things rolling again, and start a new Journey in Madden 21!

††††††††††††† ††††††††††††††††††

Commissioners Newmoons thoughts:

††††† Wrapping up a Madden Season is always bitter Sweet, and this one is no different. This has been my 9th Year running the Madden Leagues which started way back in 2011, and I can tell you each iteration of Madden has had it's fair share of issues. Madden 20 has not been an outlier, and will go down as a middle of the road experience for me on a personal level. I do see so much potential in Madden, that I think that's why I have been so unhappy with this one. The Drastic sllider change was definitely needed, and I think it helped with the realism, somewhat. However losing some guys along the way that always forget that the NFASL is a symbiotic society, and not about them will always be the un-fun parts as a commissioner. No man is above the league, not even me. 1/32 as my saying goes, a cog in the Wheel.† I hope that as you read this you guys understand that my job as commissioner is not to keep you happy, but to make sure the league is functional, playable, and fun. Hell at the end of the day it's a F-ing Videogame, and if playing games isn't fun what's the point? That's why I really hate all the complaining that goes on in the chat. It takes the fun away in my opinion, and literally sets a bad precedent for new members. I'd like to qoute a few members before I sign off for the last time on Madden 20;

Raiders Coach e30zack -"I've never been so excited for the end of madden lol it was an absolute awesome addition to have the real draft classes this time around, but hopefully next madden is better football hhaha yeah right we can hope, anyway glad to be a part of a great long standing league boys, to many more seasons of us cussing out the game instead of blaming ourselves amen."

Cowboys Cowboy Raw_Diaw -† "Until Next Madden it's been real you goons. Hopefully this Virus pass, and we get our new systems on time"

In any regard I'd like to thank Commissioner JD for the fine work he did in helping to keep the league running at a fast pace, and paying for Daddy Leagues which made my job easier with writing blurbs for the Chat. The battles in the Commissioners chat were legendary, and even though he won a few rounds my sound logic took the day most times =)

Thanks to Active-_Shooter for doing practically nothing, however I llike to use shooter as a sounding board. Ten times out of Ten if he is on the "A" side of an issue, I automatically know that "B" is the right choice. So even though he is as useless as a straw in a land of no lips he someone manages to contribute purely accidental of course.

† It's been a pleasure running the NFASL for now it's 8th year, and I hope you guys know I never do anything without thought. As always God Speed in your future endeavors, see you guys in Madden 21!

NFASL State of the League

of the NFASL!

††††††††On this edition of†ESPNEWS Commissioner Newmoon will speak about the state of the league in it's Now 36th Season of Madden, of the NFASL!† This Madden, Madden 20 in my opinion like I have said on previous occasions is one the series best. However the flaws that it does have are truly magnified, because you can see the potential in the game. However Shoddy Artificial intelligence, Coupled with YouTube has rendered the game almost unplayable on our current sliders. That knowledge has forced my hand to create a slider set that is more dynamic, and should help keep the league going for the 10 seasons that I intend. A drastic move no doubt, but when I look at the stats of past seasons I know that it had to be done. In the real world the Seasons best passing Yardage mark is 2013 Peyton Manning 5,467yards. In our league 10 people have already broke that record with the high mark being 6,863 yards, shared by two quarterbacks........Same goes for Receiving yards. In the NFL Calvin Johnson put up 1,964 yards in 2012 He would not even rank in our league as the High Mark is 2,557 yards, and the low mark being 2009. Johnson a all time great doesn't even rank.... The Final straw being passing TDs in a season, that tops out at a whopping 80.....In the Real world† Peyton Manning put up 55 in 2013. In our league that has already been eclipsed 6 times......... Something had to be done. A slider set built around hopefully forcing these teams to get rid of the ball, and to stop the YouTube Plays all built around time in the pocket. For example: in 2002 David Carr was sacked 76 times in a single season, and the teams record was 4-12. Vinny Testaverde in 1988 threw 35 interceptions in a single season and their record was 5-11. However in the NFASL we have a team that where the Quarterback was sacked 92 times in one season, destroying the record of 76, and in that same season threw 28 interceptions 7 off the mark of one of the worst thrown interceptions seasons of all time. Except what do you think the teams record was?† 15-1........Let that sink in before you even think that a slider change was not needed.

Slider Changes:

  • Quarterback Accuracy - 55
  • Wide Receiver Catching - 75
  • Pass Blocking - 15
  • Computer Interception - 10

††††††††††††††††† Here is the reasoning behind the slider change. It all starts with Pass blocking being dropped to 15. That is the baseline of the entire Slider Change. Pass rush is hopefully pumped up to the point where users look pre snap, and post snap for the one on one match ups, as well as the open receivers. Instead of picking a YouTube play and letting it develop based on the games Shoddy AI. Cover 3 beaters, Cover 4 Beaters, etc..... are all based around time in the pocket because no matter what based on certain coverages the CPU controlled players follow a linear pre determined path no matter what...... So if you already know what the CPU player is going to do it doesn't matter if you are sacked 92 times in a season. It doesn't matter if you throw 7 less interceptions of one of the all time records...... It truly becomes a game of animations.

††††††††††††† I'm not a sadist however, so that means if I pump up the pass rush, I have to create a balance where the receivers get more animations in 1-1 situations instead of the other way around. Moving the needle up on catches means that the Defense now has to play position, and swat ball mechanics on defense, because Quarterbacks can throw in tighter windows. On the old slider set those tighter window throws could not be made because 9 times out of 10 even though you have both hands on the ball that ball will be tipped up, creating a tip drill easy interception.

†††††††††† The hope is with the slider changes teams open up their playbooks creating a more dynamic game of football that resembles more of what we see on Sunday, instead of a MUT Championship. Will there be push back, of course. Change is resisted, no matter what it is. I expect that. However most members of the league have a "me" view of the league, where I have a overall what's best for the league view. I don't want to create a long wall of Text, so I will save some of my other thoughts for the next Owners meeting.

††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

Team Statistics: In the NFL the teams with the best stats normally have the best seasons. This year is no different. It takes every aspect of a team to win games, and while you can have one do well and not the other †over a full season it will show and prove in your final win loss record. So far the tops in the league are those we are about to show here. Let's take a look.

NFASL Season 7 NFC Preview

† † † † † † † † † With the AFC being dissected yesterday, it's time to take a look at the NFC in the NFASL now entering it's 7th season. The NFC had a commanding lead at the start of Madden 20, however with the AFC winning 4 of the last 6 Super Bowls that lead has been cut down to 3. That trend will look to be broken as the NFC was busy in the off-season by utilizing free agency, trades, and the Rookie Draft. With several big name coaches, with Championship pedigree struggling a season ago the bonus at the end of the Rainbow was colleges biggest names, going to these teams to be either used as trade pieces, or cornerstones to build franchises around for Years to come. With that said lets preview the Divisions.

NFC North:

  • Green Bay Packers 15-1 Headcoach spyversusspy (Division Winner)

The Green Bay Packers represented the NFC in Super Bowl XXXV and fell to the eventual champions the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 38-31. With a Team lead by 2 time, and back to back MVP Baker Mayfield they will be looking to be back in the big game again at seasons end. The Packers stood pat in the off-season as they have one of the Youngest teams in the NFL. that bodes well for them moving forward. The Packers go as their offense goes that features TE Evan Engram, and 2nd year stand out Jameson Williams. The North goes through Wisconsin, and their coach spyversusspy let's the league know it daily.

  • Minnesota Vikings 10-6 Headcoach Kevin_3447 (Wildcard)

The Minnesota Vikings made the playoffs a year ago, and represented themselves well when they were there. With Jerry Jeudy becoming one of the leagues best receivers the Love to Jeudy connection is one to be feared. In the Off-season they added Melvin Gordon III to replace Dalvin Cook opting to go for veteran leadership in the backfield before handing the ball over for good to D'Andre Swift. Their offense should among the leagues best, with Brevin Jordan working the middle of the field, occupying linebackers.

  • Detroit Lions 5-11 Headcoach Bondboyyy22

The Detroit Lions were 5-11 a year ago, and will be looking to get that record to at least 8-8 this year. With arguably the best young Quarterback in the Game Trevor Lawrence whose measurables are off the scale anything less would be considered a huge disapointment. With a receiving corp that consists of Julian Fleming, Michael Gallup, and T.J. Hockenson the Lions have enough firepower to battle it out with the best of them. They Drafted the 5'9 Jameson Sweat Cornerback out of Illinois with their first round pick, but being such dimunitive size he might be best suited playing the slot.

  • Chicago Bears 1-15 Headcoach Jady_Tru

I never thought I'd see the day that 4 time Super Bowl Champion Jady_Tru would begin a tank season, but live long enough, and you'll pretty much everything. The Bears were 1-15 on the season, and gave the Division to the Packers without so much as a snowballs resitance in July. That Tank Season garnered them the Leagues #1 Draft pick which they wheeled, and dealed to the San Francisco 49ers to garner one of the most fearsome Defensive lines in Leagues History. The Bosa brothers will be spear heading the Bears defense for several years to come with mission #1 wrecking havoc to Baker Mayfield, and the Green Bay Packers.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Chicago Bears
  2. Green Bay Packers
  3. Minnesota Vikings
  4. Detroit Lions

NFC West:

  • Arizona Cardinals 11-5 Headcoach Maddenrox9 (Division Winner)

The Arizona Cardinals won the West last season with help from their generational talent running back Isaiah Spiller who was third in the league in rushing posting 2103 yards, and 24 touchdowns that squarely put him in the discussion for leagues MVP. The Cardinals went old school on the west opting for a strong run game, and Defense that saw Jadaveon Clowney, and Khalil Mack wreak havoc on opposing Quarterbacks. However Mack retired at the end of the season and Clowney is now in his 11th season. That means the secondary that consists of FS Jaylon Jones, aand Isaiah Simmons will have to step up and take on more of a leadership role .

  • Seattle Seahawks 11-5 Headcoach IcyyCA (Wildcard)

The Seattle Seahawks took a huge step last season garnering the Wildcard, and posting an 11 win season. They will be looking to take the next step as Taulia Tagovailoa wants to separate himself from his brother Tua. The Seahawks with DK Metcalf hauled in 74 catches, 1773 yards, and 15 touchdowns. Add in George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey and you have nuclear firepower that overwhelms teams. That offense didn't come cheap however as their defense doesn't have many big name players in a division that has a ton of offensive talent.

  • Los Angeles Rams 4-12 Headcoach Dhontos

The Rams have easily the most talented team in the division, but somehow managed to end up with a 4-12 record. With a tactician of a coach in Dhontos, their record was nothing less than shocking. With their Number 1 pick they drafted 6'5" Center Michael Vinson to help their aging Offensive line. The Rams with the Highest rated team on the game should be back on top in the Division, as Jayden Daniels, John Emery Jr., Brandin Cooks, and Henry Ruggs III should not be able to be contained.

  • San Francisco 49ers 3-13 Headcoach Kaliko_420

The San Francisco 49ers were the busiest team in the off-season adding the Leagues #1 pick by trading Nick Bosa to the Bears for the #1 draft pick which they used to select RE Zee Money out of East Carolina. They also drafted Center Daniel Bracket out of Oregon, to give time to their developing Quarterback Claude Fitzpatrick. Claude Fitzpatrick also has a new toy as part of the deal to get the first round draft pick gave them speedster Rondale Moore whose speed can open up every aspect of the field.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Los Angeles Rams
  2. Seattle Seahawks
  3. Arizona Cardinals
  4. San Francisco 49ers

NFC South:

  • New Orleans Sains 15-1 Headcoach EddieHendriix (Division Winner)

The New Orleans Saints were a few plays away from representing the NFC in Super Bowl XXXV but lost to the Equally as dangerous Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game. Being so close to the promised land the Saints stood pat for the most part in the off-season. They did sign DeForest Buckner to replace the retired Future Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan. The Saints still have one of the leagues best secondaries that consists of Marshon Lattimore, and Asante Samuel Jr. so keeping that pressure up front can only help them on the back end.

  • Carolina Panthers 5-11 Headcoach Ronnie_Ransom

The Carolina Panthers Struggled last season, and saw the removal of their head coach for not taking proper care of his team. Enter Ronnie_Ransom back in the league for a second run, and hopefully this time he can stay. The Panthers had 102 million in free agent dollars in the off-season and spent it wisely. They brought in Minkak Fitzpatrick, Tyson Campbell, LG Josh Meyer, RG Hake Hansen, RG Tega Wanogho, RT Cole Van Lanen, and CB Jalen Perry. With a Haul like that and still 26 million in cap space the Panthers are building for now, and the Future.

  • Atlanta Falcons 5-11 Headcoach YoungPedialyte47

The Atlanta Falcons are lead by their brash headcoach Champagnepapi whose constant attacks on Commissioner of the league JD is truly legendary. However if he spent as much time on the practice field as he does creating memes these Falcons might actually make some noise. The Falcons have DeShaun Watson running the show in now his 8th year. Add that with Ezekiel Elliott, and Jaylen Waddle, Calvin Ridley, and A.J. Brown the Falcons have more than enough firepower to compete.

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-15 Headcoach S6ixRingY7

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a season of discontent finishing with a 1-15. That saw them bring in Coach s6ixRingY7 during the season, who subsequntly began a Tanking session for the best draft pick available. Those Picks turned into Washington teammates Wide Receiver Kendall Gatson, and running back Kerry O'Neal. Tanking season is over however, and now it's time to string some wins together. The Saints are the big dog on the porch in the Division so the Buccaneers at least know how far they have to go.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. New Orleans Saints
  2. Carolina Panthers
  3. Atlanta Falcons
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

NFC East:

  • Washington Redskins 11-5 Headcoach Newmoon001 (Division Winner)

The Washington Redskins won the Division a season ago with an 11-5 record but fell to the New Orleans Saints in the Conference round after dispatching the Seahawks in the Wildcard game. The Skins have arguably the best offensive line in the league, but they are draining the bank account leaving the Skins with very little wiggle room. Opting to sign their own players the Skins were not active in the off-season cutting both Landon Collins, and Jared Goff to make room for their up coming free agents. Look for this team to continue to lean on their run game that saw Derrius Guice post 1685 yards, and 18 touchdowns on the season.

  • Dallas Cowboys 9-7 Headcoach Raw_Diaw

The Dallas Cowboys switch in organizational strategy from tanking every season just might start to pay off as they were 9-7 on the season, narrowly missing the playoffs. With two of the best Young Defensive line-man Erin Cole Jr, and Chase Young the Cowboys should be feared no matter who they play in a passing league. On Offense they have Justin Herbert strong armed Quarterback with Speed at every position. That throw power should do them wonders as Anthony Schwatrz can take the top off of any defense. Add in Chris Tyree speedster coming out of the back field and you quickly realize you cannot cheat in any direction with this team.

  • New York Giants 9-7 Headcoach The-KiiD-Kenny

The New York Giants took a major step back missing the Playoffs, and coming in 3rd in the division as moving on from Daniel Dimes Jones may have been a mistake. The Switch to Jalen Hurts has been a failure so far, which allows teams to stack up on Saquon Barkley. Barkley still had a season for the record books as he posted 2170 yards, and 24 touchdowns. No small feat with everyone and their mother knowing the Giants are going to hand the ball off adnauseum to him. The Giants have arguably the best front four in the league that consists of Aaron Donald now in his 11th season, Rashan Gary, and Phillip Webb. Look for them to shift focus back to strong defense, and the run game.

  • Philadelphia Eagles 1-15 Headcoach Melblaze3521

The Philadelphia Eagles are lead by Coach Melblaze who had another season of misery as they finished 1-15. However a new slider change, and one of the best young receiver corps in the game as players bullish in the city of brotherly love. With the Retirment of Fletcher Cox the Eagles used their number 1 draft pick to draft Russ Long Defensive tackle out of Oklahoma. Carson Wentz is now in his 9th season, but has not progressed the way many thought he would. Wentz will be looking to turn his career around, or his time in Philadelphia may be coming to an end.

  1. Washington Redskins
  2. Dallas Cowboys
  3. Philadelphia Eagles
  4. New York Giants

NFASL Season 7 AFC Preview

† † † † † † † † † The†NFASL is entering season 7, and the Baltimore Ravens are the Defending Super Bowl Champs! . After a string of seasons with the NFC team winning it all, the AFC has made a statement this madden that they are the stronger conference winning 4 of the past 6 Super Bowls. The all-time Superbowl wins for each conference is 19-16 in favor of the NFC. If this trend continues the AFC will be tying that up this Madden.† We've never gone this far into Madden, so I'm interested to see which teams will separate themselves as building a team to compete over the long haul changes things. With that being said, let's take a look inside the AFC, as we will deep dive the NFC on tomorrow.

AFC North:

  • Baltimore Ravens 14-2 Headcoach Tommanowns (Division Winner)

The Baltimore Ravens won the Division, as well as Super Bowl XXXV and will look to go back to back. With several players players ready to hit free agency, and only 6 million in Cap the Ravens are in a position where they are going to have to make some hard decisions in the not so distant future.

  • Cincinatti Bengals 10-6 Headcoach bgreat238 (Wildcard)

The Cincinattie Bengals made the Wildcard round a year ago leaning on one of the best Secondaries in the game. They Traded with the Dallas Cowboys moving Troy Pride in what many believed was a cost cutting move. The Bengals are lead by Jacob Burreaux, and Joe Mixon on the offensive side of the ball, and should be in the mix all season long.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6 Headcoach Hac_3443

The Pittsburgh Steelers headcoach Hunter Clark has deemed himself the stone Cold Steve Austin of the league as he feels he was wrongfully given a force loss a year ago that cost his team a spot in the post season. With the Steel Curtain 2.0 the highest point scoring defense in the league, he just might have a point. However when your nickname is last game Hac, don't be complaining if you catch a Force L every now, and again.

  • Cleveland Browns 4-12 Headcoach Papalon24

The Browns after a having a season to forget a year ago made a major move in the off-season sending Kyler Murray to the Dolphins to for Tua Tagovailoa to become the signal caller for the Franchise. That Move should pair up Tuas strong arm to the Speed of KJ Hamler who had a break out season a year ago. The Browns drafted a generational talent Marvin Vincent out Wake forest to help sure up a struggling secondary, but find themselves in a bind as they are tied up with an albatross of a contract for Myles Garrett that pays him 40 million dollars a year, and no money to sign a litany of free agents on their team.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Baltimore Ravens
  2. Pittsburgh Steelers
  3. Cincinatti Bengals
  4. Cleveland Browns

AFC West:

  • Kansas City Chiefs 11-5 Headcoach CapnClutchKC (Division Winner)

The Kansas City Chiefs are lead by the Face of the League Patrick Mahomes, and last season was no different. Mahomes put up stellar numbers a year ago, and will look to do the same thing this year. With a team that has speed at every position that features Tyreek Hill, and Mecole hardman the Chiefs are a rare team that you can't get ready for. They added Todd Gurley in the Offseason to give them a tough yards back that they feel as though they missed in the playoffs a year ago. The AFC West has become one of the best divisions in football so where every yard matters, Gurley could pay dividends.

  • Los Angeles Chargers 10-6 Headcoach Yell_2 (Wildcard)

The Los Angeles Chargers made the playoffs on true grit a season ago, and will look to build on that run this year. They have everything you need as Sammy Baugh Jr., Jerion Ealy, and KJ Hill have developed into their own big 3. Throw in a side of JuJu Smith schuster, and you can see why so many are bullish on the Chargers. They traded for Denzel Ward in the off-season figuring that jalen Raegor, and Tyreek hill are not getting any slower any time soon.

  • Oakland Raiders 9-7 Headcoach e30zack

The Oakland Raiders lost 4 straight down the stretch and saw what started as a promising season diminish into one of anguish. With speed at every level the Raiders missing the playoffs was surprising to say the least. With Bazooka Arm Tyree Jackson, Wandale Robinson, DeAndre Hopkins, and Jalen Reagor in the Skills position they should be in line for a Super Bowl this season. However the West however is not for the feint of heart, and any slip up can see you home for the holidays.

  • Denver Broncos 6-10 Headcoach Hirschyyy

The Denver Broncos defense was record breaking bad a season ago, however their head coach stated that his team is starting to figure it out. With Von Miller in his 14th season, and most likely his final year the Broncos would love to send him to the retirement home with another Super Bowl Trophy. However unless they can sure up their Defense it doesn't matter how many points they score, if they can't stop a nose bleed.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Oakland Raiders
  2. Kansas city Chiefs
  3. Los Angeles Chargers
  4. Denver Broncos

AFC South:

  • Houston Texans 11-5 Headcoach Maddenrox9 (Division Winner)

The Houston Texans a year ago found life difficult without DeShaun Watson behind Center, but eventually settled on Kellen Mond who played for the Carolina Panthers a year ago. The Texans picked up Aaron Jones in the offseason moving on from Phillip Lindsay who played well in his time in Houston. The Texans will be looking to get back to the Super Bowl, as they won 4 games down the stretch last season to win the Division.

  • Indianapolis Colts 10-6 Headcoach Gaberooni54 (Wildcard)

The indianapolis Colts were leading the Division the entire season, but faltered down the stretch allowing the Houston Texans to win the Division, and the Colts home for the Post season. Failing down the stretch the Colts shifted their strategy by drafting 6'4 Bryan Otting out of† USF to take over for the aging Russell Wilson who will play mentor for the Young Quarterback. With NyHeim Hines, and Derrick Henry in the Backfield the Otting will have a healthy support group, while he figures out the league

  • Jacksonville Jaguars 7-9 Headcoach ThePacificCowboy

The Jaguars came one strong down the stretch a season ago winning their last 3 games, however it was a little to late. At 7-9 the Jaguars feel as though they let a season slip away, and has vowed not to let that happen again. They spent major dollars for Journeymen Sam Darnold playing for his 3rd team in 4 years giving him a 4 year 70 million dollar contract. The Jaguars are starting to reach the point where rebuilding comes to mind as their defense might best be described as aging, but still playing at a high level. With D.J.Chark becoming arguably the Leagues best receiver, reminding people of Randy Moss with his deep catch ability They could be in line for another Super Bowl this season.

  • Tennessee Titans 2-14 Headcoach Jace_Curry25

The Titans had a season to forget as they went 2-14, and came into the off season looking for answers in multiple places. Their first order of business was to keep developing DJ Galeilei who surprised everyone a season ago with his Growth from his rookie season to his Sophomore year. Now stringing wins together is the next step for this young QB. With the 5th pick in the first round they drafted D.J. Weston to go along with a already very good secondary that consists of JD Downs, and Justin Layne. The Titans could surprise some teams this year.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Indianapolis Colts
  2. Houston Texans
  3. Tennessee Titans
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars

AFC East:

  • New England Patriots 11-5 Headcoach ATK133 (Division Winner)

The New England Patriots were top dog in the Division a year ago, but there were several teams that looked like they will be taking the next step. With Jake Fromm making a name for himself the Patriots feel as though they are set at Quarterback for several years to come. Deebo Samuel, Nick Chubb, NKeal Harry are just a few of the big named players on the offensive side of the ball. However the Patriots make their bones on defense as they are bookended by two of the leagues best pass rushers. Josh Kaindoh, and Chase Winovich have bbeen a dynamic Duo, and could get this team over the top this year.

  • Buffalo Bills 9-7 Headcoach OffensiveDom

After several seasons of Struggling with losing records the Bills had a good season a year ago, but still came up short missing the playoffs allowing the Patriots to win the Division for 6 straight seasons. With Justin Fields leading the team in now his 5th season, the Bills could be on par for a deep playoff run. First things first however as winning the Division has never been harder. There are no cake walks so expect every game to be played with playoff intensity.

  • New York Jets 8-8 Headcoach Traylonakanana

The New York Jets were 8-8 on the season and feel as though they were 1 or 2 plays away from making the post season. Dwayne Haskins came on in year 5, and looks like he is finally ready to lead a franchise into the promised land. His Connection with Odell Beckham Jr now in his 11th year has been vital to the success of Haskins. with the Division lock tight there is no room for error, and the jets just might fool a few people this season.

  • Miami Dolphins 7-9 Headcoach I757IMonster

The Miami Dolphins were one of the leagues most dangerous teams down the stretch a year ago as they relished the role of spoiler, ending several teams playoff bids. Now however it's time for the Dolphins to take the next step, and they made a move that could do just that. Trading for Kyler Murray will open up every aspect of their offense making them one of the leagues most dangerous teams.

Commissioners Newmoons Predicition:

  1. Buffalo Bills
  2. New England Patriots
  3. New York Jets
  4. Miami Dolphins

NFASL Season 7 Kick Off Game

††††††††The NFASL is Back!!!!! The New Season is upon us, and right now there are 32 teams all feeling like they†have, a chance at winning the Next big game. Of course we all know that in the end there is only one team, that gets to hang their banner in the most glorious Hall of Champions!† Last season it was the Baltimore Ravens, and their undsiputed G.O.A.T. headcoach Tommanowns winner of Six Super Bowls in the NFASL! Tommanowns has won Super Bowls V, X, XI, XX, XXX, and now XXXV. No easy task as all 32 teams are vying to be the top dog, and last season was no different. However that was last year, as a new day breaks across the horizon as Season 7 is now underway! The NFASL free agency period had a minor hiccup with the Panthers owner getting themselves removed for sheer stupidity. No sweat though, as the League members follows the plain rules laid out. The NFASL Rookie draft went on without a hitch, and we were able to wrap things up fairly quickly with this being one of the more lesser drafts in recent memory.

† As always a new season means a new batch of players as for some strange reason members leave the best league on earth of their own accord, or do something ridiculous to get themselves removed. Welcome to S6ixRing7 headcoach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who made his debut last season with a 1-10 record, but now will have a full off season under his belt, and will control a team from week 1. Jace_Curry25 is in the Same boat as the Tampa Coach as he joined half way through the season a year ago, and has posted a 2-7 record since joining the league. He will also relish an opportunity to start fresh, and with a full off-season under his belt he has begun the process of making the team his. The Carolina Panthers are now being coached by Ronnie_Ransom who has been in the league before, but life got in the way, and asked to be removed from the league until things got back on track. They are, and he is. he will find life difficult in the NFC South as the Saints have once again rebuilt a team to contend.

††††† With The new Season Big moves are made, and this season was no different. The Miami Dolphins traded for Kyler Murray, and with the way the Dolphins came on late last season there could be a new team at the top of the standings when the season ends. The Jaguars gave a big contract to free agent Sam Darnold opting to go for veteran leadership on a team that is ready to compete after a down season a year ago. Toddy Gurley after winning the Super Bowl in Baltimore last season got a nice new free agent contract to try to bring the Chip to Kansas City. The Niners opted for pure unadulterated speed as they traded for one of the best young talents in the game as Rondale Moore will now be catching passes on the Gold Coast. Nick Bosa is now wreaking havoc in the Windy City as the Bears are building a team to take on the Packers in the North. Denzel Ward is playing in Los Angeles with the Chargers as Tyreek Hill, andJalen Raegor has given Chargers headcoach Yell_2 nightmares.† .

†† The NFL Rookie Draft went on without a Hitch as The San Francisco 49ers with two picks in the top 5 drafted Zee Money 6'4", 250LB Right END out of East Carolina with the #1 pick. They also drafted Center Daniel Brackett out of Oregon to help build their aging O-line. Good luck to all, and let's have a great season as usual!.

† † † † † † † † † † † † † † †† .Bears set the Tone!.

† † † † † † † Baltimore, MD. In the NFASL Kick Off Game the Chicago Bears send a message defeating the Super Bowl XXXV Champions the Baltimore Ravens 41-21. On a night where the Ravens received their banner for winning Super Bowl XXXV they came out flat on both sides of the ball, and the Bears took advantage. The Bears jumped out to a 34-7 halftime lead and never looked back! The Bears were lead by their up and down Quarterback Josh Allen who started out the season, and game on fire. Allen went 13-15 to start the game, and the Ravens were left scratching their heads as they thought they had the best Quarterback on the field. Allen finished the game with 333yards passing, and 2 touchdowns with a 140.7 total QBR.

Allen outplayed the Ravens dynamic passer Lamar Jackson who stuggled in the loss foing 11-21, 192yards, 2 touchdowns, but 3 ints. Jackson was also bottled up in the run game rushing 4 times for zero yards, and a fumble. The Bears added the Bosa Brothers and paired them on the D-Line which should be a boon for the pass rush. With the Bosa Brothers creating havoc the No Fly Zone just might once again take up air space in the North.

The Baltimore Ravens got a great contribution from their home run hitter Anthony McFarland who was a blur on the ground rushing for 193 yards, on only 13 carries. with the Bears pass rush being so ferocious the Ravens headcoach has to be kicking himself for not running more. Especially with Speedster Hollywood Brown getting bottled up. Brown finished with 2 touchdowns, but only had 3 catches for 54 yards which is way off his last seasons average.

The Baltimore Ravens wiill look to get back on the winning side of things as they take on the Gotham City Jets in week 2. The Bears will look to keep the train rolling as they will be at home against the 1-0 Dallas Cowboys.

†††† The new season is upon us, every team has a chance to win, and optimism is renewed!† Until next time this has been a Sim Athletics Network Production.

Sixth time the Charm!!

†††††††††† Super Bowl XXXV Miami, FL. In the†NFASL Super Bowl XXXV, The Baltimore Ravens added another Banner in the Hall of Champions defeating the Green Bay Packers 38-31!† The Games MVP Lamar Jackson outplayed the leagues MVP Baker Mayfield as Jackson Passed for 2 touchdowns, and 203 yards in the win. Add in another 8 rushes for 47 yards, and a touchdown on the ground, and you can see how he was given games MVP! Jacksons Dual threat ability didn't just start in this game as he has been doing it all season long. The Ravens were 14-2 on the season having the AFC's Best record. It's only fitting that they win the Super Bowl giving the AFC 4 in 6 seasons, and closing the gap in the Hall of Champions. In the Game the Ravens jumped out to a 14-0 lead, and looked as though they were going to run away with the game. However just as quick as they got that lead the Packers came storming back and tied it up in the blink of an eye. From there it was a game of back and forth as neither defense could stop each others offense as efficiency became the word of the day. The Ravens got a huge contribution from 4th year player Anthony McFarland who had a monster game rushing 17 times fore 173 yards, and a touchdown. If not for a fumble he could have just as easily garnered Super Bowl MVP himself. When you average 10.2 yards per carry in the biggest game of the year, MVP should be in your future. The Ravens also got help from their receiving corp as Jackson was equally distributing the ball to whoever was on the field. The Big Play was to Mycah Pittman who had the games go ahead touchdown, but TE Mark Andrews, and Hollywood Brown, and TE Hudson Henry all got in on the act. ††

The Packers of course were lead by the Leagues MVP Baker Mayfield, and he did not have a bad game, just not the game we are used to seeing. Mayfield was 13/20 for 197 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in the game with a 93.1 QB Rating. Not bad, but not leagues MVP Caliber. With Baker seemingly mortal the Packers needed to get going elsewhere and they leaned heavily on their running game opting to hand the ball off to Jermar Jefferson. Jefferson nearly got the Packers to the promised land, as he rushed 21 times for 138 yards, and 2 touchdowns. The sequence of the game that most will remember however is the Packers being stopped on 3 straight run plays at the 2 yard line late in the game. The Packers went to their bread and butter HB Dive however were stopped on downs. Many pundits will say that the Packers should have taken the Field Goal, but these New Young headcoaches are doing things based on analytics. Force the other team in this case the Ravens to go 99 yards even if they don't score. Of course, and right on queue Anthony McFarland took the next play to the house, and gave the Ravens back control of the game. The Packers had to play from behind from that point forward, and they were never able to concede control of the game again!††††

†††††††††††††

The Baltimore Ravens were coached by Tommanowns, who has cemented himself as the best in the Leagues History. G.O.A.T.† Congratulations on winning Super Bowl XXXV, and hanging your Sixth banner in the Hall of Champions!

††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Lets have a conversation with Super Bowl XXXV winner Coach Tommanowns:

  • You won Super Bowl XXXV, what was your gameplan going in?

The Game Plan was to make the Packers win by nickel, and diming up the field rather than allow a 1 play touchdown. On offense, allow McFarland to wear out the front 7 of Green Bay, and set up the passing game.

  • You jumped out to a 14 -0 lead over the packers, and watched it evaporate just as quick. What was going through your mind?

After getting out to a 14 point lead, I knew that the Packers offense was explosive enough to get back in the game at a moments notice. I compounded that by turning the ball over on consecutive drives, and was thinking that if I just calm down, and run the ball, I can keep the ball out of Baker Mayfields hands and limit their scoring opportunities.

  • late in the game with the score tied the Packers opted to go for a touchdown, in place of taking a 3 point lead. You stopped him, and scored on the the next play. Bring me through that sequence.

That seqquence frustrated me honestly lol, because everyone and their mother knew HB dive was coming, but he ran it 3 times in a row! My Defense has high Play recognition, so after the first time they were ready to be gap disciplined, and leave no running lanes for Jefferson. Once I got the ball back, I was running to create breathing room, but McFarland has too much agility for a safety to make a play 1-on-1 in space, and the rest is history!

  • Lamar Jackson garnered MVP how was he able to do it?†

Lamar didn't need to throw for 400yards, and 6 touchdowns to win with this team. He Just needed to make the timely throwsI knew he was capable of. My Offensive line deserves a ton of credit for being downhill run blockers, but also keeping lamar clean in the Pocket. I played conservatively in the pass game through the the first 3 quarters to set up the eventual game winning pass to Pittman. Lamar used his dual threat talents to torment opponents all throughout this run.

  • You are the Madden Season XXXV Champion. The Floor is yours is there anything you wan to say to the rest of the league?

I'd like the league to know that I don't take these Super Bowls for granted, because I know just how hard the guys in here wort to achieve this goal. And there was no chance I could let a kid that looks like Toby beat me!

††††††††††††† ††††††††††††††††††

Commissioner Newmoons thoughts:

†††††† Tommanowns is one of the most Senior members in the league, and has been with me since near the beginning of the creation of the NFASL. So Let me be the first to say again congratulations! Thomas Jones IV has posted his 6th Championship in the NFASL. let that sink in. He already cemented himself as the GOAT in the League, but the six Time Champion has just a nice "Ring' to it.† Tomman has one 5 of his 6 Super Bowls with his beloved Ravens Franchise which has to be all the more sweeter. The Ravens were 14-2 on the season, and did it without much controversy. No accusations of Cheese, no quitting, not incessant arguing in chat, which is too his credit, and really what the NFASL is all about. He has also added Podcast host to his repertoire as Tom Jones Presents sportIVation has been a rousing success. I can't tell you how much it pains me to deal with the constant complaining about how the game is trash, this guy cheeses, he broke the rules, etc...... The rules are all in place for a reason, not just because. I have never not once done anything just because. Everything is painstakingly thought out with no regard to actually what I want. I only ever do what is best for the league. I have had some throw down arguments in the Commissioners chat with my two lieutenants JD, and Shooter about how the league should be run. I don't always win either. Every now and again Haleys Comet frequency they actually come up with a good idea, that makes more sense than mine. But like I have said in the past I'm smart enough to realize a good idea when I see it so the credit is still mine. My father used to say don't be stuck on stupid. Good Advice for any growing lad, or league. I have sat back and watched how the games are being played in the league, and how the game of Madden has evolved to allow such trivial seemingly easy to exploit game design. In no other Madden did I leave sliders the same except this one which has been a mistake. Too many youtube videos, too poor programming, and too much cheese to allow that. Next season there will be a drastic change in the slider set, to stop exactly that. Some will love it, and some will hate it, but CEST LA Vie!††

††† The Baltimore Ravens will be enshrined into the Hall of Champions to be ever remembered as the Team that won Super Bowl XXXV, On February 24th, of our Lord 2020.† The Baltimore Ravens were 14-2 on the season, under the Tutelage of coach Tommanowns, whom has hung his 6th banner. Once again Congratulations on your Super Bowl Victory! As always this has been a Sim Athletics Network Production. It's been grand, God Bless you all, and see you Next season.

NFASL Playoffs

The†NFASL Playoffs are here! The Houston Texans are the Defending Super Bowl Champs, and will have a tougher time to go back to back as the AFC has become a all out Thunder Dome! These Playoffs are showcasing young, and up comine talent with a bunch of new faces, to include teams, and Coaches! We will miss some of the Old Mainstays like the always entertaining Kaliko_420, and the San Francisco 49ers! Or the 4 time Champion Coach Jady_Tru and the Chicago Bears who had a season of discontent! We will even miss the worst Giants User in History Active, errrr THE-KiiD-Kenny whose name change will take some getting used to! But enough about those that didn't make it, lets have a look at who did! The NFC is top heavy as hell with the Saints, and The Packers both having 15-1 records, with the Saints squeaking out for the #1 seed, and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs! The Packers wide open offense has been feared, and should make for a high scoring game no matter who he plays. In the AFC the Ravens are the Creme of the crop as they have the Leagues most dynamic player in Lamar Jackson, and speed at every level! The AFC has pretty much become a No holds barred Steel Caged match with only two teams in the Entire conference with less than 6 wins! That means every game, and I mean every game is Tough as F-ing Nails, and should bare out this time of season with these teams being battle hardened! The Field is Set, and this is the Tournament of Champions! The Hall of Champions is the Prize, and only the Good lord knows who will hang their banner at the end of this Season! Good Luck to all combatants!

In the NFC the Teams are:

  1. South - New Orleans Saints 15-1
  2. North -† Green Bay Packers 15-1
  3. West† - Arizona Cardinals 12-4
  4. East † - Washington Redskins 11-5
  5. Wildcard - Seattle Seahawks 11-5
  6. Wildcard - Minnesota Vikings 10-6

In the AFC the Teams are :

  1. North - Baltimore Ravens 14-2
  2. West - Kansas City Chiefs 11-5
  3. East - New England Patriots 11-5
  4. South - Houston Texans - 11-5
  5. Wildcard - Cincinatti Bengals - 10-6
  6. Wildcard - Los Angeles Chargers 10-6

The stage is set, and the Hall of Champions is the prize! Good luck to all participants in the Leagues 35th season!Lets take a look at the strengths of each Conference

†Team Record Coach Team Notes
14-2 Tommanowns The Ravens are lead by Lamar Jackson whose Dual threat ability will make him a handful to deal with in these playoffs. However the moment you over commit Hollywood Brown, and Anthony McFarland will take the top off of any defense!
11-5 CapnClutchKC The Kansas City Chiefs head coach CapnClutchKC has everything but a banner in the Hall of Champions! with his team getting older this is the Season that he will go all out to get it done!
11-5 ATK133 Jake Fromm has become a household name in New England finding himself second in the league in Passing with 5509 yards, and 47 touchdowns. However when you are the guy replacing arguably the best QB in History Tom Brady, passing Yards will not be enough!
10-6 maddenrox9 Life has been dificult for the Defending Champs without Deshaun Watson to include a QB Change early in the year. Enter Rookie J.J. Jasper and life has changed in Houston. He will have large shoes to fill as the last time Watson touched the Field in the Playoffs he brought the Banner Home!
10-6 bgreat238 The Bengals gave the Ball to Jacob Burreaux and as they say the rest is history! They will be making the playoffs with one of the best Secondariess in League history, in a passing league that can only give a boon to their chances! Winning from the Wildcard spot isn't easy, but it has been done!
10-6 Yell_2 The Chargers used a Hell of a run at the end of the season to make the post season, and they will look to make the most of it in their game! Coach Yells Defeatist attitude may come back to bite him, however! hand the Ball to the Offeensive player of the year Jerrion Ealy, and let him carry the load!

Teams Record Coaches Team Notes
15-1 EddieHendriix The Saints are the Leagues bet team with a 15-1 record, and a championship pedigree headcoach! Joe Burreaux has taken that next step as he was 5th in the league in MVP voting, and 1st in the Confeernce as best Quarterback! That confidence boost should make getting these Saints out of the playoffs near impossible!
15-1 spyversusspy The heavily awarded Packers Team who only went from Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and now for the second straight year League MVP Baker Mayfield! At 15-1 and nearly every offensive record known to man the Packers are arguably the most dangerous Team entering these Palyoffs!
12-4 maddengoat35 Any time you win the NFC West you are a candidate to win it all in the league, and this year is no differentt! Beating out the likes of the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers is no small task. Look for the Cardinals to hand the Ball to Isiah Spiller, and play tough nosed Defense!,
11-5 Newmoon001 The Washington Redskins moved on from Dwyne Haskins after drafting him high in the first round a few seasons ago! That move paid off as building the leagues best offensive Line, and a tough nosed running back in Derrius Guice as been the formula for the team in Washington
11-5 IcyyCA The Seahawks moved on from Russell Wilson, gave the Ball to Taulia Tagvailoa and and opted to trade within the Division to get George Kittle,to go along with DK. Metcalf and Christian McCaffrey! Overnight they made themselves one of the leagues most dangerous Offenses.
10-6 Kevin_3447 The Vikings have built a winner behind the solid right arm or Jordan Love as he taken over as face of the franchise that once belonged to Dalvin Cook. With the Vikings having Jerry Jeudy, and Tight End Brevin Jordan if they win it all don't act surprised!

††††††††On this edition of†ESPNEWS It's Week 8, the 1/2 mark of the Season and it's time to look at what's going on in the NFASL. With Major changes this year to personell, and major moves in terms of coaches going from one team to another things could not be more interesting. The Houston Texans are are the Defending Super Bowl Champions winner of Super Bowl XXXIV, and so far they have been less than stellar posting a 4-4 record at the halfway point. The Super Bowl Hangover is in full effect for the Defending Champion, but they are not out of the race by far.†† At the Half way point teams are starting to separate themselves with a few teams showing they are the creme of the Crop. Some of those teams are the New Orleans Saints, and Green Bay Packers who are the only two undefeated teams in the league at 6-0. The New England Patriots, Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs are all 6-1. The Buffalo Bills are 5-1, and look like their Super Bowl Winning coach is back!†† Of Course for every yen, there is a yang with some of the teams struggling mightily in this season. The Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, and Tampa Buccaneers are all winless at the halfway point. The Titans are looking for a headcoach, and the Buccaneers just welcomed S6ixringy7 as their head honcho. The Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins, and surprisingly the Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles Rams all have 1 win.† It's still early however, so if these teams want to have any post season success they have to turn things around now. The other option is these teams will have to get into the War Room and work on their draft boards, and Free agency to make sure they don't have a season like this again in the future!†

† Lets take a look at the Conferences in the NFASL, and see how things are shaking out.

American Football Conference

††† In the AFC The Battle rages as it seems every team is in contention. The AFC North is a three way tie, the AFC West is a 2 way tie, and the East, and South are battling it out with teams right behind one another in the standings.

In the North Jacob Burreaux of the Cincinatti Bengals leads all passers with 1937 yards passing and 16 touchdowns. Lamar Jacksons Dual Threat ability still puts him in the lead as he has 1603 yards passing, and is 5th in the Division in rushing with 390 yards. The Pittsburgh Steelers with their scoring defense, and penchant for big plays on offense could put their long time headcoach in line for his first super Bowl Appearance. The Browns are looking for consistency out of their Star QB Kyler Murray, but have modeled their team after the Baltimore Ravens. This Division is pretty much up for grabs, and the Browns feel as though it's theirs to win .

††† In the AFC South the QBs are struggling wit the Defending Super Bowl Champs Houston Texans finding life difficult without one of the leagues Best DeSean Watson as Feleipe Franks has struggled since taking over for the Traded Watson. In the South no QB has more Touchdowns than Interceptions so if any of these teams want to go on a run, they will have to rectify that immediately.†

† In the AFC East it's no wonder that both the New England Patriots, and Buffalo Bills only have 1 loss between them. Both Quarterbacks Jake Fromm, and Justin Fields are playing at a high level. They have been getting the ball to their big play receivers Curtis Samuel, and CeeDee Lamb which has been a boon for their offenses. The Jets are still in the mix as Dwayne Haskins is looking for a second life in the Big apple. The Miami Dolphis have been openly talking about trading their young QB Tua Tagovlailoa which can't bode well for the future of their franchise.

† In the AFC West the Patrick Mahomes has been playing like a MVP with 20tds, to only 4 ints and has the Chiefs out to a 6-1 record. They find themselves behind the Los Angeles Chargers in the the Division as a big time win in primetime put this loaded team on the top. Sammy Baugh J.R. and the pure unadulterated Speeded of Jerrion Ealy has been to much for opposing Defenses. The Raiders are not far behind but will need to close the gap before they find themselves out of the playoffs. The Denver Broncos has the leagues best offense, and the leagues worst defense. If they can put up a little resistance they could be a team in the future to watch out for.†

† In the NFC the conference is top heavy with 8 teams below .500 never a good sign for a division as Competition breeds champions. With 5 teams with 1 or fewer wins, things are looking bleak in the Once mighty NFC.

† In the NFC North the Baker Mayfield Lead Green Bay Packers have been on a tear as their all or none offense has wreaked havoc on opposing secondaries. Baker Mayfield is in line for Leagues MVP, and their coach could be up for a second banner hanging in the Hall of Champions. The Minnesota Vikings are 2 games behind the Packers with Justin Love playing well, but will need to get the two headed monster of Dalvin Cook, and D'Andre Swift across the goalline if they want to pound teams into submission. The 4 time Super Bowl Winning Bears headcoach has found himself in a rebuilding year and at 1-6 have found himself in a situation that many didn't believe could happen. The Coach of the Lions has the arguably the best young QB prospect in recent years, but he has yet to figure out the complex Defenses of the NFL. If Trevor Lawrence is unable to reverse his penchant for throwing the Intserception his career may be short lived.

in the NFC South the New Orleans Saints are rolling with a 6-0 record, Joey Burreaux has cemented himself as one of the leagues Best, and Alvin Kamara is building on his already Hall of Fame career. unfortunately for the rest of the Division they only have 3 wins between them, and that lack of competition for the Saints could come back to bite them in the playoffs. Poor QB Play has been the Culprit as DeSean Watson was supposed to change the fortunes in Atlanta. He has played well, but no where close to the MVP caliber seasons that he had in Houston. The Panthers Have Kellen Mond, and the Buccaneers have Jack Miller both Young inexperienced QBs which is always a learning process. Their success may come in the future, but as of now they need to find a offense that fits them.

In the NFC West the Arizona Cardinals lead the division Isaiah Spiller making his bid for MVP. The Cardinals are doing it the old fashioned way with Defense, and a strong run game as their second year Quarterback Carson Beck is the lowest rated. The Seahawks are hot on their heels behind a dominant season from D.K. Metcalf, and Taulia Tagovailoa brother of Tua. With the Niners having another down year the Seahawks have to feel as though this is their Division to win. The Niners headcoach, two time Super Bowl winning headcoach Kaliko should be back from his hiatus, to only find his niners 3 games back, and a half a season to catch up. The Rams under the tutelage of coach Dino has been pedestrian, but with arguably the best collection of talent in the league, they cannot be counted out no matter what their record is.†

† In the NFC East the Washington Redskins lead the Division at 5-2 but it has been smoke and mirrors. Bryce Young has struggled in his second season as QB, and will need to get control his penchant for the Turnover if they want to hold off both the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Giants. The Giants are a game behind the Redskins, and with Saquon Barkley, leading the Division in Rushing they will always have a chance. The Giants have been trying to turn the team over to 5 year pro Jalen Hurts, however if they want success they may have to go by the way of Strong Defense, good rushing game. The Dallas Cowboys also find themselves† 1 game behind the Redskins, and tied with the Giants. The Cowboys have Justin Herbert whose arm strength is second to none. being ablt to hit any throw makes this Cowboys team extremely dangerous, especially with the addition of Chris Tyree home run running ability.† The Final team in the East are the Winless Eagles and all of his losses can be squarely placed on the right arm of Carson Wentz who has thrown a 2nd worse in the league 26 interceptions.†

ESPNEWS JD's 1st qtr All pro team

ESPN Breaking News:† The debut of Unnecessary Roughness was aired to a rousing success, produced by Tom Jones (Tommanowns - Baltimore Ravens).

†††††

††††††††On this edition of†ESPNEWS It's the 1st quarter of the season so that's means it's time for JD's 1st Quarter All Pro Team! The Youth Movement is underway as the League has begun the transition from the stars you used to know, to the young Guns taking up all the air time on ESPN! There are 3 undefeated teams early on such as the Kansas City Chiefs, so it's no surprise to See Patrick Mahomes, and MeCole Hardman On that list. However the leagues reigning MVP Baker Mayfield is on pace to break his All time record of 81 touchdown Passes a year ago, and after his Primetime performance earlier in the week it's no wonder why. The Packers are a league best 5-0, and with their offense nearly unstoppable they could be in line for a Deep playoff run. Be Careful however as you win, the Magnifying glass gets focused in on you, and there have already been some rumblings. The Running Backs are lead by Chargers breakout player Jerrion Ealy who leads the league in rushing at the moment. However Jermar Jefferson with 30 fewer carries is right on his heels. The Giants have Darius Slayton leading the the Roost, but if they are a team lead with the run. Look for Saquon to get more carries, and Slaytons Catching totals to drop.

† In the AFC North it has officially become a dog fight as the Ravens, Bengals, and the Steelers all have only 1 loss and a healthy dislike for one another. Bodes well for a Rivalry that should last for an EON. In the AFC South The Colts and Texans are tied, with the Tennessee Titans headcoach shaming himself quitting a game in progress, then fell on the sword retiring from the league. The Jaguars are struggling mightily, but it's still early. The AFC East is being won by the Patriots at 4-1, however the Bills and Jets look like they may put up some resistance this year. In the West it's a 3 way race between the Chiefs, Chargers, and Raiders, with the Broncos having finally got 1 win under their belt. With their offense if they can get any defense, the Broncos could be the next big thing.

††† In the NFC North the Packers are lead, but the Vikings are only a game behind, and the Bears are a 4 time Super Bowl Champ so to see them at 1-3 is a little surprising. The Lions have been in flux, but they have a good young core, and are building. The South has become the New North with so much change, with only the constant being The New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers just landed a new headcoach, will he be able to compete? The Panthers are in the process of interviewing a replacement with the sudden retirement of Anthonyisfat69, and the Falcons headcoach ChampagnePapi is too busy with his unattainable music career to put up any sort of resistance. The NFC East is being run by the Redskins early, however the Cowboys, and Giants both have incredible teams, and good users. They just have to string some wins together, and any kind of lull by the Redskins could spell disaster. Finally in the NFC West the Cardinals are on top with a 3-1 recordd. Coach JBOC27 left a huge power Vacuum, but the League never misses a beat. Coach Dino took over the Rams, and got their first win under their belt, with many more in sight. The Niners at 2-3 is a 2 time Super Bowl Champ, but with Marriage, child birth, and a full time Job, no Super Bowls can be seen for the forseeable Future. and.

NFASL Stated of the League

of the NFASL!

††††††††On this edition of†ESPNEWS Commissioner Newmoon will speak about the state of the league in it's Now 35th Season of Madden, of the NFASL!† This Madden, Madden 20 in my opinion is one of the best Maddens ever made, however it's not without it's flaws. One of the major issues is that we are officially in the YouTube age, and that means every single flaw that is found in the game can be disseminated easily, and readily. That means, that even though this game is a giant step in the right direction, the flaws that it does have are magnified because you see them more often. It behooves us as a community to make sure that we adhere to the mission statement of the League at all times. Is it corny, no doubt, but it is very much spot on. Calling someone cheese, pooting on the game constantly, quitting on opponents, running up the score, Giving up in game, playing in a unrealistic manner, etc..... I literally could go on and on. One of my my most famous sayings is; "If a videogame isn't fun, what's the F-ing point"? I truly believe that. So when someone leaves I don't get mad, and when they get a itch to comeback I take it all into consideration. However I don't yank people from their teams, I don't play favorites, etc.... I do work on the Credit System. Some members credit score is in the High 700's, and some are very low. That isn't called playing favorites, that just good fiscal responsibility.

A question was raised yesterday about how far the league is going, and I answered Madden to Madden. However after speaking with my two lieutenants, we have decided on a nice even 10 seasons. This will give us a 2 month break for the summer, and getting out juices flowing for Madden 21. We are in week 4 of Season 6, so we are on the provervial roll. Fast is good, but I always caution not to miss the scenerey on the way. I love doing stories, and when I have free time I try to do as many as possible. However there were so many fires to be put out last season, coupled with my busy work schedule I didn't have time to do what separates this league from the rest of the dreck that is out there. That's Website stories, and Blurbs via Gort. So if you ask yourself why that was, now you know the answer. The league had become a job for me, and my Hourly wage is pretty high. So to have the league feel like work, and not get paid for it, becomes a major problem.

  • JD- I have much distain for your play styles on the AFC side if we being honest call it a NFC bias. From ATKs playmaking to Roffman to Hunters 1 coverage. But I've talked to you guys a lot mostly since Texans joined in PMs. I just want yall know to know the same things you guys complained about him doing you have said similar things about each other at times. I remember I used to get messages and hear about how Tom's offense is a youtube offense. Same with OffensiveDom's cover 2 defense, Stew's blitzes, list goes on and on. But they started to not be as dominant and that rumbling stopped. So you have to ask yourselves do you dislike Texans style because he the only one who seems like a cheesy style or is it because his cheese is just better than yours at the moment? Lets finish these last 4 seasons strong and with the new rules I think the AFC will be able to maintain balance.

  • Shooter - itís Been 8 Years since Joining NFASL and Iíve never felt more at home in any other league. I have no idea why maybe itís because my Division is as easy as 123. Playing the Crippled Eagles and Diabetic Redskins helps and then doesnít help. I Have a lot of respect for the NFC ever since bringing in JD , the Addition of Eddie Hendrix and as much I hate to say it Toby, the NFC looks better then ever and I donít see it getting worse even with the peppa out we can all still live as he didnít really do much.† I have a lot of Respect for the AFC but theres some changes we need to make to make this league Great again and I know we are heading in that Direction ! Meanwhile Letís keep having Fun and enjoying the best lg in madden. As a Commish I respect everyone and their opinions and suggestions on making this league great again , as for Toby stop snitching on people for breaking the Rules. I Get not a lot of people respect me as a commish† but† Guess what.... The day of reckoning Will come !
