AFC Preview

On this edition of ESPNEWS We will focus in on the AFC and preview every team in the Conference. The AFC has fell behind 17-12 in banners hanging in the Hall of Champions. The most recent team to have that dubious honor is the Cleveland Browns who could not get the job done in Super Bowl XXIX falling to the New Orleans Saints. The Browns headcoach RedskinsWAHOOOO has now lost is 3rd Super Bowl! The Browns were one of the busier teams this offseason, and are one of the hands on favorites to win it all this year. There were several moves made in the offseason for the Division with some talented coaches changing zip codes, and picking up teams to balance out the league. QB11KC jumped at the chance to play with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs were one of those teams that has everything in place to win it all, except a good coach, that has officially changed! The AFC East did the same thing adding a headcoach who comes in with much fanfaire as the Kardiak Kid K_Beex has taken over the Languishing Miami Dolphins. In the 29 seasons of the NFASL the Dolphins have been the most down trodden franchises and many are hoping that it changes this year. Coach K_Beex claim to fame is on the offensive side of the ball, and should at least make the Dolphins competitve. The Final piece of the puzzle to fill out the AFC was none other than Super Bowl XIV winner criticalnews2 taking over the Tennessee Titans. The Titans franchise many moons ago hung a banner, and will now be in contention to win another with a good coach. Without further adieu lets take a indepth look at all the Divisions in the AFC!

AFC North:

  • Cleveland Browns  Coach of the Team: RedskinsWAHOOO
  • Pittsburgh Steelers  Coach of the Team: Hac_3443
  • Baltimore Ravens  Coach of the Team: Tomman_Owns
  • Cincinatti Bengals  Coach of the Team: B_L_Great

Overview: The AFC North is always a slobber knocker as the Ravens, and Browns go head to head yearly. This one will be no different as they easily have some of the best talent in the league, and they will only make this Division one to watch. The Browns head coach will look to hang his first banner, and the Ravens headcoach will look to hang their first.

Baltimore Ravens -

  • Key Additions/Re-Signings - Earl Thomas, Mark Ingram, Tavon Young, Robert Griffin III
  • Key Losses - C.J. Mosley, Eric Weddle, John Brown, Terrell Suggs, Za'Darius Smith, Michael Crabtree, Joe Flacco

The Baltimore Ravens are run by NFASL Legend and 4 time Super Bowl Champ Tommanowns so they are more than good at the most important position. The Ravens have the most dynamic Quarterback since Michael Vick as Lamar Jacksons speed is that of a wideout which could be hell for opposing defenses. If he can hold onto the ball, and play turnover free ball the Ravens could shock the division by winning it the first year

Cincinnati Bengals -

  • Key Additions/Re-Signings - John Miller, Kerry Wynn, B.W. Webb, Darqueze Dennard, Preston Brown, C.J. Uzomah
  • Key Losses - Vontaze Burfict, Michael Johnson

The Bengals didn't do much this offseason as many think they are looking forward to this summers draft as they should be in line for one of the Quarterbacks that are available. They already drafted the Tackle of the future, and now making sure they are in line for a franchise changing QB should be thought about right now.

Cleveland Browns -

  • Key Additions/Re-Signings- Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon, Sheldon Richardson, Kareem Hunt, Morgan Burnett, Gregg Robinson
  • Key Losses - Kevin Zeitler, Jabrill Peppers, Jamie Collins, Emmanuel Ogbah

The Cleveland Browns were the loudest team in teh offseason adding much maligned, but immensely talented Odell Beckham Jr to their roster. With Beckham on the Team many believe the Browns are headed for greatness, and their headcoach RedskinsWAHOOOO will finally get that Super bowl that has eluded him all these years.

Pittsburgh Steelers -

  • Key Additions/re-signings - Steven Nelson, Mark Barron, Donte Moncrief, Ben Roethlisberger, Anthony Chickillo, Jordan Berry
  • Key Losses - Antonio Browns, Le'Veon Bell, Marcus Gilbert, Morgan Burnett, Jesse James

The Steelers are hoping on addition by subtraction getting rid of a tumultous locker room and team killer Antonio Brown, and Le'Veon Bell. they will miss that talent however as they are among the leagues best. The steelers will have to lean heavily on JuJu Smith-Schuster and the right arm of newly resigned Ben Roethlisberger.

Commissioner Moons Predictions:

  1. Cleveland Browns
  2. Baltimore Ravens
  3. Cincinnati Bengals
  4. Pittsburgh Steelers

AFC West:

  • Denver Broncos  Coach of the Team: Kevin_3447
  • Kansas City Chiefs  Coach of the Team: QB11KC
  • Oakland Raiders  Coach of the Team: e30zack
  • San Diego Chargers  Coach of the Team: I757IMonster

Overview: The NFC west just got a boost in coaching talent with the introduction of QB11KC taking over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are one of the most talented teams in the league, and should be one to watch as the league progresses. Lets go team by team.

Kansas City Chiefs -

  • Key Additions - Tyrann Mathieu, Frank Clark, Carlos Hyde, Kieth Reaserwas easily won by the Oakland
  • Key Losses - Kareem Hunt, Justin Houston

The Chiefs have the best Young quarterback in the game in Patrick Mahomes, and the human cheat code Tyreek Hill for him to throw the ball to. They then started working on their defense which was one of the leagues worst as they added the Honey Badger, and Frank Clark to sure up that side of the ball.

Oakland Raiders -

  • Key Additions - Antonio Browns, Trent Brown, LaMarcus Joyner, Tyrell Williams, Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs
  • Key Losses - Keleche Osemele, Jordy Nelson, Donald Penn, Marshawn Lynch

The Raiders lost several good players a year ago but started replenshing the stock this offseason for their Quarterback Derek Carr. Adding Antonio Brown, and Tyrell Williams, and a major speed upgrade at running back has many thinking the Raiders will be one of the highest scoring teams in the league. They are coached by a Super Bowl XIII winning headcoach in e30zack

San Diego Chargers -

  • Key Additions - Jerry Tillery, Thomas Davis, Tyrod Taylor
  • Key Losses - Tyrell Williams, Jason Verrett, Darius Philon

The Chargers have all the talent it would take to win Super Bowl XXX, even with the long in tooth Philip Rivers who seems to be getting younger. They have a defense that will give fits to opposing teams with Bosa, and Melvin Ingram rushing opposing QB's in a passing league.

Denver Broncos -

  • Key Additions - Joe Flacco, Noah Fant, Ja'Waun James, Kareem Jackson
  • Key Losses - Case Keenum, Matt Paradis, Brandon Marshall

The Denver Broncos are building for the future drafting Noah Fant to secure the tackle position, and then drafting the Quarterback of the future big arm Drew Locke. Locke has shown well in camp allowing the Broncos to cut Joe Flacco in Minicamp. They will be hoping locke continues his improvement, however preseason is a whole other animal than the regular season.

Commissioner Moons Predictions:

  1. Oakland Raiders
  2. San Diego Chargers
  3. Kansas City Chiefs
  4. Denver Broncos

AFC South:

  • Jacksonville Jaguars  Coach of the Team: PacificCowboy
  • Indianapolis Colts  Coach of the Team: Gaberooni54
  • Houston Texans  Coach of the Team: BigRY8
  • Tennessee Titans  Coach of the Team: criticalnews2

Overview: The NFC South has perenially been the most competitive division in the NFASL but that will be looking to change with coach criticalnews joining. that means the remaining teams will have to step their games up or hand the keys to the Division to the Titans for several seasons. The talent is here, so i fully expect these teams to fall in line.

Tennessee Titans -

  • Key Additions - Ryan Tannehill, Rodger Saffold, Cameron Wake, Adam humphries
  • Key Losses - Josh Klinee, Quinton Spain, Blaine Gabbert, Brian Orakpo

The Titans are putting some fire under the feet of Marcus Mariota by adding Ryan Tannehill to make sure he knows that playing well is part of the job. However with a new headcoach the Titans will look for him to add what he did for Cam Newton in the Carolinas.

Jacksonville Jaguars -

  • Key Additions - Nick Foles, Jake Ryan, Chris conley, Geoff Swaim
  • Key Losses - Blake Bortles, Malik Jackson, Tashaun Gipson, Donte Mondrief, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, T.J. yeldon, Carlos Hyde

The Jaguars made the one move that has eluded them for several seasons and that was getting that starting quarterback position under control. with their defense the Jaguars needed a quarterback that would manage the game and not throw away their chances. Nick Foles fills that role beautifully and should make this team one to watch.

Indianapolis Colts -

  • Key Additions - Justin Houston, Devin Funchess, Spencer Ware
  • Key Losses - Al Wood, Ryan Grant, Dontrelle inMan

The Colts have reinvented themselves giving Andrew Luck a offensive line, and a run game. Adding Devin funchess only helps the run game, and passing attack with his ability to catch in traffic. They also added Justin Houston to help out with the pass rush could make this team one to watch.

Houston Texans -

  • Key Additions - Tashaun Gipson, Bradley Roby, A.J. McCarron, Matt Kalil
  • Key Losses - Tyrann Mathieu, Kareem jackson, Andre Hal, kevin johnson, Demaryius Thomas

The Texans only job this offseason was to make sure DeShaun Watson to stay upright as he was sacked the most times in the NFL a year ago. they should be just the more dangerous because of it, and with his speed and right arm, and all world wide receiver on the outside makes the Texans one of the most dangerous teams in the league.

Commissioner Moons Predictions:

  1. Tennessee Titans
  2. Jacksonville Jaguars
  3. Houston Texans
  4. Indianapolis Colts

AFC East:

  • New England Patriots  Coach of the Team: ATK133
  • Miami Dolphins  Coach of the Team: K_BeeX
  • Buffalo Bills  Coach of the Team: OffensiveDom
  • New York Jets  Coach of the Team: TraylonaKanana

Overview: The AFC East has just become a 4 team race with the Miami Dolphins hiring a new head coach. These teams made several moves in the offseason, with the Jets being the most active. the days of 13 wins and winning division should be over as 10-6, 11-5 is more realistic this season.

Buffalo Bills -

  • Key Additions - Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon, Cole Beasley, John Brown, Tyler Kroft,Ty Nsekhe, Spencer Long
  • Mitch Morse, Kevin Johnson
  • Key Losses - Devin Singletary, John Miller, Kyle Williams

The Bills addressed their offensive line in the offseason adding several pieces to keep Josh Allen upright. He still showed well a year ago, and with coach Offensivedom, Super Bowl winning headcoach at the Helm the Bills should be one of the leagues best.

New England Patriots -

  • Key Additions - Demaryius Thomas, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Benjamin Watson, Michael Bennett, Jamie Collins
  • Key Losses - Chris Hogan, Cordarrelle Patterson, Dwayne Allen, Rob Gronkowski, Trent Brown, Adrian Clayborn, Trey Flowers, Malcolm Brown, Eric Rowe

The New England Patriots have a Super Bowl winning headcoach in ATK133 and should be in line for another as long as Tom Brady is on the field. They will have to do it without Future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski who suddenly retired. They did add some pieces to the team that should reap benefits in the season to come!

New York Jets -

  • Key Additions - Trevor Siemian, Le'Veon Bell, Jamison Crowder, Kelechi Osemele, C.J. Mosley, Chandler Catanzaro
  • Key Losses - Isaiah Crowell, James Carpenter, Spencer Long, Buster Krine, Jason Myers

The Jets have quietly been one of the best teams in the offseason addressing several team needs with the additions of Mosley, Crowder, and Bell. With them Drafting Sam Darnold last year, and now surrounding him with weapons the Jets could be a sleeper in the East.

Miami Dolphins -

  • Key Additions - Josh Rosen, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Dwayne Allen, Akeem Spence, Eric Rowe
  • Key Losses - Ryan Tannehill, Frank Gore, Danny Amendola, Ja'Waun James, Josh Sitton, Cameron Wake

The Dolphins added several pieces in the offseason but their biggest addition was the headcoach K_Beex. Paired up with strong arm Josh Rosen the Dolphins could finally make some noise in the East. They lost some good players on defense so the offense will have to click early and often.

Commissioner Moons Predictions:

  1. Buffalo Bills
  2. New England Patriots
  3. New York Jets
  4. Miami Dolphins
