NFASL Mid Season Report

ESPN Breaking News Kaliko_420 will be giving 1 Million Mut Coins to the Season 1 Winner of the NFASL!

On this edition of ESPNEWS It's Week 8, the 1/2 mark of the Season and it's time to look at what's going on in the NFASL. With Major changes this year to personell, and major moves in terms of coaches going from one team to another things could not be more interesting. The New owners are making a mark (Yell_2, & BigmoneyNick_), and some are just trying to keep their head above water (MrRay718, K_BeeX, &Palmerjr2). New Faces, in New Places like Antonio Brown 33 recs, 997yds, & 12tds, or Nick Foles 2204yds, 23tds, 63% Completion, & 115.7 QBR, & the Leagues leading rusher Kareem Hunt 147carries, 1186 ydards, & 6tds.

At the Half way point teams are starting to separate themselves with a few teams showing they are the creme of the Crop. Some of those teams are of course the Defending Super Bowl Champions New Orleans Saints, who at 7-1 looks like that franchise will be a load to handle for years to come. The Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, The New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, jacksonville Jaguars Just to name a few. Of course for every  yin, there is a Yang as there are more than a few bottom feeders who are still trying to figure things out. The Some of those teams are the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, and the The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Winless and pretty much hopeless at least for this season are of course the Philadelphia Eagles who I picked to win 7 games this season..... These Teams will have to get into the War Room and work on their draft boards, and Free agency to make sure they don't have a season like this again in the future!

Lets take a look at the Conferences in the NFASL, and see how things are shaking out.

American Football Conference

 AFC North

  • Baltimore Ravens 5-2
  • Cleveland Browns 5-2
  • Pittsburgh Steelers 3-3
  • Cincinatti Bengals 3-5

AFC South

  • Jacksonville Jaguars 5-2
  • Tennessee Titans 5-2
  • Indianapolis Colts 3-4
  • Houston Texans 1-7

AFC East

  • New England Patriots 6-2
  • New York Jets 3-3
  • Buffalo Bills 3-3
  • Miami Dolphins 1-5

AFC West

  • Kansas City Chiefs 6-2
  • Los Angeles Chargers 5-3
  • Oakland Raiders 4-3
  • Denver Broncos 2-6

In the AFC Things are shaping up nicely with night tight races in pretty much every division. you still have the Top Dogs, however like in seasons pasts the top dogs bark is a lot worse than their bite. In the North the Ravens are on top with a strong run game anchored by Lamar Jackson, and a solid Defense a 5th Banner hanging in the Hall of Champions could be the result. The Browns are a mere % point behind them and without question has the most talent. However will he be able to put it all together. The Steelers, and Bengals have 3 wins apiece, and still find themselves in the thick of things.

In the South the Jaguars behind Nick Foles find themselves atop the Division, and have the leagues #1 total team in yards! Dangerous combo for a team that had everything but a QB, now they have a one. Their closest rival in the Division is criticalnews2, and the Tennessee Titans who have won 5 of their last 6 games. The Colts at 3-4, has dubbed this season a dumpster fire, but it's still early, and at 3-4 are in the thick of things.

In the East The Patriots are the running away with it with a 3 game lead over their next two closest competitors in the Bills, and Jets both at 3-3. They will need to string some wins together if they want to Catch Tom Brady.

Finally the West looks as though it will be a dog fight all the way to week 17, and beyond. The Chiefs are on top as of now at 6-2, with the Chargers behind them at 5-3, however the Chargers are fading fast losing 3 in a row. The Raiders are a up and down team, but can score with the best of them on, and on any given Sunday look like the best team in the NFL.

National Football Conference

NFC South

  • New Orleans Saints 7-1
  • Atlanta Falcons 5-3
  • Carolina Panthers 4-3
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-5

NFC North

  • Green Bay Packers 7-1
  • Minnesota Vikings 4-3
  • Chicago Bears 3-4
  • Detroit Lions 1-5

NFC East

  • New York Giants 6-1
  • Washington Redskins 4-3
  • Dallas Cowboys 2-5
  • Philadelphia Eagles 0-7

NFC West

  • San Francisco 49ers 5-2
  • Los Angeles Rams 4-4
  • Seattle Seahawks 1-7
  • Arizona Cardinals 1-7

In the NFC this conference is home of the Defending Super Champions the New Orleans Saints, and they look like they are apt to win it again. The Saints have jumped out to a 7-1 start and already find themselves with a 2 game lead in the Division. The Falcons with their Old/New headcoach KingofCaesars are their closest competitor. The Falcons are doing what is necessary as they have strung 4 wins in a row, and are one of the hottest teams in the league. The Panthers at 4-3 are right their, but their last outing they showed rather poorly.

In the North much like the South Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are on top with a 7-1 record. The Packers are quietly putting forth a defensive season that could rank as one of the all time best. They are also scoring 40+ points per game which makes that right hook, left hook combo lethal. The Vikings find themselves 3 games behind the Packers, and know that winning is the only cure. The surprise of the division has been 4 time Super Bowl Champion Jady_Tru who find themselves at 3-4, but forever optimistic saying that they can still make a run.

The East is lead once again by the Giants, and it pains me to write this but shooter find 3 plays masters them, and runs over the entire division to include the author of this article. The Giants are 6-1 with one of the lowest rated teams on the game. Cheetos, and Mountain dew must be PEDS! The Redskins have a young core, so no excuses at 4-3 winning the division is a must and anything else is uncivilizied. The Cowboys are 2-5, and the Eagles are winless to round out the Division. Two of the best teams personell wise in the league....

Finally we get to the West, where the San Francisco 49ers are running away with the Division excuse the Pun as Tevin Coleman has broke the single Game rushing record twice this season already. The Rams are danger close however at 4-4 and could be atop the Division when the season ends. The Rams offense is tops in several categories, and look to only be getting better. The Cardinals, and Seahawks are 2-14 and have already started making vacation plans.

Team Statistics: In the NFL the teams with the best stats normally have the best seasons. This year is no different. It takes every aspect of a team to win games, and while you can have one do well and not the other  over a full season it will show and prove in your final win loss record. So far the tops in the league are those we are about to show here. Let's take a look.

Total Offensive 3666           Total Rush Yards 1359              Total Pass Yards 2660

Total Defensive yards 1729        Total Defensive Sacks 41                  Total Defensive ints 24
