Overview: The Carolina Panthers are the focus of this weeks team Spot light! The Panthers have been quietly, and I mean quietly kicking butt, and taking names. No more, as they are now front and center for the entire league to see. The Panthers lead the league in points scored per game at 34, and give up a league low on defense at 12. That is a recipe foe success no matter what sport you are playing. Cam Newton has come into his own after a record breaking rookie season. The Sophomore Slump hit Newton like a bag of bricks, and the Panthers record suffered for it. They Now lead the NFC South over hated rivals the New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Falcons. Steve Smith has been a constant force through all the ups, and downs for the Panthers; This Season is no different. Smith Leads the team in receptions, and touchdowns, 29, and 8 respectively. His big play ability gives the Panthers a distinct advantage on offense, and he has to be accounted for on every offensive possession. 

         I can't talk about the Panthers without bringing up their defense. Luke Kuechly, and Charles Johnson are the Pro Bowlers, but the entire defensive unit works in unison. When you give up 12 points per game in a offensive league, you know they are laying at an all time level. The Panthers play their biggest game of the year against the San Francisco 49ers in week 10. Lets see if they can win this game, and we might have to start talking about an undefeated season.
